Alexander Wang

The Alexander Wang Spring / Summer 2015 collection takes sneakers and sneaker culture as its starting point. Opposing the notion of dressing-down, the collection uses popular sneaker iconography, materials, and graphics to create highly elevated, sculpted silhouettes.

An unexpected influence is drawn from Madame Grès and is seen in draped, fluid dresses. Accordion pleats with electric-colored prints form sculpted shapes, while flirtatiously exposing the body. Intricate hand-pleated dresses are molded, and are contrasted with an under layered long-sleeved mock neck ‘locker’ shirt.
