LANVIN Winter 2017 Men’s Ready-to-Wear Pre-Collection

Military spirit or American heritage, experiments on fabric or prints... This season more than ever, the Lanvin Man mixes tailoring codes with sportswear, in a collection which allows everyone to express their personality.

"Graphic Military”
Chinos or biker trousers sometimes with raw seams, luxurious reefers or flying jackets... Under the creative direction of Lucas Ossendrijver, military codes enhance a resolutely tailored wardrobe in distinct colours: red, navy blue, black... The strict uniform spirit is subtly twisted here by the purity of lines and the richness of fabrics. Another legacy from the military spirit: a new signature zip has been developed. It joins large buttons, embroidered badges and patch pockets. Generous knitted elements are worn in layers: khaki over black, zipped roll-neck over turtle-neck. Strips and stripes highlight the seams of straight trousers, enhance the collar of a jacket, structure a felt reefer. They create contrasting lines and generate an impression of flowing movement overall.

“Vintage US”
Duffle coats, parkas, iconic bomber jackets... The American campus and its imaginary world have inspired within Lucas Ossendrijver a style of dressing and living. Check shirts are reworked in a destructured patchwork style, down jackets are padded with luxurious leather appliqué on the shoulders. Comfortable, authentic, slightly nostalgic, this wardrobe was designed with extra soul. The cardigans and V-neck jacquard jumpers, carefully holed, the denim and shearling jackets, look nearly new with their already worn style. The down parkas and baseball jackets are embroidered with colourful badges designed specially for this collection, as if each piece already bears its owner’s story within it. Embroidered with patchwork, rich in details and new fades, denim is spotlit in a capsule collection.

“Over-dyed”
The urban spirit finally permeates the collection: Prince of Wales check, classic shirt stripes and ties are reworked. Prints and fabrics are washed, dyed and over-dyed. They appear as if plunged into a bath of dark colour, up to the chest or sleeves. Optical effects multiply and open the way to new patterns: large and small checks, multiple stripes and micro-prints come together, illustrating brand new design combinations for a retro effect on shirts, t-shirts and suits.
