CAPSULE FALL 2017

The Capsule Fall 2017 expresses Marni’s avant-garde spirit through linear silhouettes and discreet volumes, illuminated by an explosion of vibrant colours. The exploration of shapes and careful sourcing of prints, shades and materials creates an aesthetic paradigm that makes the structure pure but the detail elaborate. The passion for the meticulous appearance of the outfits and uniforms is given new meaning, leading to a contemporary reinterpretation of the iconic pieces in the Marni wardrobe.

Asymmetry and overlaps create a play on measured proportions, where tight trousers complement oversized dresses and skirts in an elegant contrast. The outer fastenings on jackets and coats create ruches that shake up the volume, creating a newconcept of dynamism. The sportswear inspiration runs through the whole collection, making way for romantic and feminine details, with ruches, pleats and draping adding movement to the shape.

The combinations of materials explore different possibilities, blending technical fabrics with fine yarns. The contrasting materials accentuate the modern cuts and proportions. Devoré velvet, silk, jersey jacquard, Shetland and lined two-tone mackintosh alternate with coatedwools and nylon. Fur makes its customary appearance, this time in the form of patchwork mink shawls and embossedsheepskin.

The prints are a celebration of colour.
