Inspiration

The T by Alexander Wang Fall/Winter 2017 collection is an assertive and layered approach to every day dressing. An athletic sensibility is punctuated with a seductive attitude, playing with volumes in the juxtaposition of covetable, urban essentials.

Layering, a core element of T by Alexander Wang, references strong contoured silhouettes this season and an overall focus on mismatched proportion; looseness is balanced with a flirtatious emphasis on the leg. Outerwear is explored in oversized bombers done in mixed-tweed boucle and padded leather. Dense fleece is borrowed from the boys and used to re-interpret everyday sweats in more tailored and molded shapes. Slinky silk dresses come with a suggestive twisted-front that has become one of Wang’s signatures. A lace-front adds a captivating glimpse in an ultra suede dress. This season, the T by Alexander Wang girl is toughened and protected by pieced leather and stretch leggings and cascading zippers, adding an edge and confidence.
