Winter 2016 Pre-collection Ready to wear

Lucas Ossendrijver, Style director at Lanvin Homme, signs for the Winter 2016 ready to wear pre-collection urban fashion that never limits its wearer. This is a sophisticated and creative wardrobe, fluid and graphic, to dip into as the mood takes you. This season elegance is found in details that are never superfluous. Here are colours that cross over, a scarf which is superimposed and glimpses of fancy prints.

So the tailoring goes trendy, echoing the style of the moment. The usual colours, such as navy blue, camel and charcoal come up against shades that are both vintage and daring: fir tree green, brick red or bright blue. Shirts and sweaters use graphic patterns: diamonds and checks over stripes, fancy prints. Textures combine; a silky shirt is worn under a coat of woollen cloth, warm trousers with a lightweight polo shirt.

As for the more classic tailoring, here tradition is reinvented. Drawing from the excellence of the masculine know-how of the Lanvin Man, Lucas Ossendrijver designs his own idea of elegance. The discretion of Prince of Wales check or a dark colour is enlivened by a wider cut, relatively full-cut coats with big lapels or pockets. Trousers hug the figure, following every movement in lightweight fluidity.

The Menswear Style Director also likes to divert from traditional concepts, as he proves in the relaxed wear selection of this pre-collection. A fan of a subtle kind of “Mix and not match”, he proves that fashion is also an opportunity to state one’s individuality. An unmatched suit, a striped top worn with a check shirt, shades of wine red are mixed. Inspired by vintage “workwear’ he reworks the house’s iconic coats: stitching is visible on the bomber jackets, shearling is used for the car coat and motifs are embroidered on the baseball jackets.

For the evening collection Lanvin offers a line that meets the codes of the dinner suit whilst adding a “glam-rock” feel. Firework patterns in radiantly coloured lurex are embroidered on the coal black silk. Chic in complete freedom.

Creativity, individuality, daring. Such are the watchwords of this pre-collection for Winter 2016 which determinedly states the codes of the Lanvin Menswear world.
